my niece and i can have conversations now - and they are the most precious things ever.

some of my recent favorites:

niece:  ameh, you're kind and messy.
me:  oh, thank you sweetie.
niece:  and you're kindof wonderful and pretty...

niece:  ameh, i don't want to go to bed.
me:  okay, would you like to sit with me?
niece:  yes, i'm going to sit here with you and fall asleep.

niece:  ameh, are you a mama?
me:  not yet sweetie.
niece:  why? 
me:  i have no babies.  should i have babies?
niece:  yes.  you need to be a mama.
me:  okay, i'll get on top of that.


seriously - how freaking cute is that?...  my heart explodes!
